The recklessness of American political and military decisions of the recent past is starting to boomerang at the United States itself. On December 13, 2001, US President George W. Bush announced the one-sided US withdrawal from the Treaty on the Limitation of Anti-Ballistic Missile Systems (ABM). The official motivation of White House was extremely foggy. Something about the “growing nuclear threat“ from third countries like Pakistan and even South African Republic, which by that time had already abandoned its nuclear program was said. It was nothing but a clumsy Washington’s excuse to cover up new US military expansion.
