I don’t want to discuss BLEEDING STRATOS as an edit. So I won’t. From inception to completion, BLEEDING STRATOS has always been a project tied to it’s creator. It’s an incomprehensible task to “review“ a project so personal, so sewn into the fabric of the artists soul, that separating the two denies its vision. When watching BLEEDING STRATOS, you may feel many things, and it isn’t my job to guide your interpretation anywhere. However, for the sake of discussion, I’ll be answering this question; “What did you feel after watching BLEEDING STRATOS?“. What I felt the most, is that, what I watched came from somewhere real. The quality of BLEEDING STRATOS is defined by the refinement and execution of emotion, not the refinement and execution of CoD editing “principles“. The beauty of BLEEDING STRATOS is the presentation of something already beautiful, varied, moody, and true. I get the feeling that, when watching BLEEDING STRATOS, what is being portrayed is a reflection of something that already existed, an emotion come and gone, digested, and showcased in all of its honesty. Many long-form edits are praised for their ability to allow someone, if it be a bystander, or long-time friend, to see a glimmer of their visual psyche. Jane truly brought this to the next level, and created a niche only surpassable by herself, a window so mesmerizing you’ll spend a plethora more than six minutes digesting. I don’t see BLEEDING STRATOS as a “long-form edit“, I see BLEEDING STRATOS as a long-form representation of something much, much larger than simply an edit. That’s about the biggest praise I can give.
