Cryptopsy Damned Draft Dodgers Drum Cover by David Diepold

Hello everyone! This is a cover version of ’Damned Draft Dodgers’ by Cryptopsy. I’m a huge fan of Cryptopsy and especially of Flo Mounier since I was a 15 year old kid. I always loved the drum sound and all the crazy stuff that they were playing. And in my opinion the last record is again a true master piece when it comes to Extreme Metal. I recorded this the same day, I did the Fleshgod Apocalypse cover, just about two hours earlier. I somehow managed it to play some parts with heel-toe, but it still felt unnatural to me so that’s why I’m not always using it... Again very special thanks to my buddies Bartol and Reins from bazn sounds & records!!! Everyone at Murat Diril Cymbals! Pedaltrigger! And also Flo, for sending me the original click track... If you want to get in contact: For the sound it’s also the same as for the FG cover: Except for the bass drum and (half) of the snare drum, all the drum sounds are natural (just used pre-set eqs and compressors). For the bass I used a standard sample from the Steven Slate foundry and for the snare I mixed signals (about one half natural sound with eq, comp and just a little verb; and the other half is again a standard snare from the Steven Slate foundry. I had to pitch the sound of the sample, so it would match my real snare. It just gives you the attack during the fast blast beats. And yes I admit, it sounds a bit unnatural but it’s just a drum cover and you can sea that I’m actually playing it live...)
