FIG Official - 15th World Gymnaestrada, Helsinki (FIN), July 12 - 18, 2015 - DAILY HIGHLIGHTS, July 16th (Day 5): At each World Gymnaestrada, the South African show stands out for its freshness, energy and frank display of emotion. This year, neighbors Zimbabwe -- first-time performers at a World Gymnaestrada -- joined the spectacle to present a true “Afternoon in Africa.“ Afterward, the final two National Evenings celebrated Gymnastics on the American continent with a show titled “Let’s Move It,“ and in Japan, with “Welcome to Gymnastics Cafe.“ Though vastly different, each show was unforgettable, a reminder that the World Gymnaestrada is the cultural event of the FIG.
