Konnakol for therapeutic music making, Part 1

This is a short introduction to the Konnakol - the language of rhythm from Southern India. It is used for educational and performance purposes, but there are all reasons to use it for therapeutic music making which means intentional use of music based experiences to positively affect person’s physical and emotional state. Vocalization of rhythm allows you to express youself without any restrictions and limitations of the body or the circumstances. Konnakol turns the rhythm into the process of singing or talking which is very natural for all people! We feel so confident using words and sentences! Konnakol is about the same – it introduces certain syllables and once you’ve got them you can start to talk, sing rhythmical phrases, experiment and improvise. Alex Ostapenko aostapenko2000@
