Mi-171A3 and flights over the seas

The Mi-171A3 is a new modification of the Mi-171 family of multi-purpose helicopters, designed for offshore operation, transportation in sea conditions and, in particular, for logistics among offshore drilling platforms. Based on the Mi-171 platform and having a significant number of common elements with it, the A3 model, however, incorporates many innovations, including an almost completely new fuselage, which distinguishes it so much from its relatives. Thanks to these innovations, the Mi-171A3 fully meets all the requirements of maritime logistics, which makes it, in fact, the first full-fledged offshore helicopter created in Russia. At the beginning of 2022, the Mi-171A3 has already been created, made its first flight and is undergoing certification tests.
