1957 Indianapolis 500 Film

No copyright infringement is intended this, or any video I upload. The purpose of uploading this video is for the viewing pleasure for those that watch it. This is the 41st Indianapolis 500, run on May 30, 1957. This presentation was taken from a special that SpeedVision, the predecessor to today’s SPEED channel, did on the Indianapolis 500, and highlighted the years from 1957-1971. The intros to some of these races, done by legendary commentator and historian Brock Yates, give some insight, though he was incorrect in saying that the speedway had been paved with asphalt, except for the famous yard of bricks. Back then, the majority of the main straightaway was still the original brick surface from 1911.
