29-year-old Bob Sweikert wins the 1955 Indy 500 driving a car built by Tulsa, OK industrialist Jack Zink. Actress Dinah Shore congratulates Sweikert in winners’ circle. During the race former Indy 500 winner Bill Vukovich was killed when his roadster flipped repeatedly in a 4 car wreck. One year later, Bob Sweikert would be killed in a sprint car race. Jack Frank maintains a large collection of historic films of Tulsa and Oklahoma dating back to the 1920s.
