Lumbar Corpectomy and Fusion with Synthes’ Synex II Device

Demonstration of an L1 vertebral fracture with retropulsion of fragments into spinal cord. Thoracotomy incision with rib removal to expose and remove the entire fractured L1 vertebral body and replace it with a fusion device. The fusion device is fitted into the space between T12 and L2 for spinal support and is supplemented with a metal fusion plate and screws.
