Sasumata (刺股) Demonstration

In Japan, there are fire drills, earthquake drills, and intruder drills. In this intruder simulation, faculty of an elementary school practice how to use “sasumata“ (刺股) to deal with an unwanted, knife-wielding guest. Widespread use of the Sasumata in Japan began in the Edo period.
