Reports: Shipping company Yellow Corp. lays off Toledo, BG employees

Yellow Freight, a national trucking company has closed its operations in Northwest Ohio - leading to hundreds of workers being laid off at three area distribution sites, according to an 18-year employee at the company. Amber Gowing, who worked in logistics at the company, says she and other employees were told on Friday they would be losing their jobs. Yellow Corporation has terminals on South Ave. and Glendale Ave., which operate as YRC Freight, and another in Bowling Green, which operates as Holland Freight. On Sunday, Teamsters Local 20 met with the recently laid off employees to clear up confusion over the abrupt layoffs.
