Kodachrome processed in colour, 2021 - Super 8 Anamorphic K40 - Oscar at Sunset

Kodachrome 40 Super 8, expired 2004 - processed using 1938 colour formulas. Test 1 This was the first live test of my Kodachrome re-exposure machine, I soon discovered that the speed sensor wasn’t well placed, as a result of this I made some changes to the machine. The initial few seconds of each test consist of leader where the film received sub-optimal exposure. The red line is due to me loading the film emulsion facing in after red exposure so impeded cyan developer access meant only yellow and magenta developed in that area. Test 2 This section was used to test the immediate second usage of the colour developers and the improved re-exposure machine design. It has more even colour and fewer artefacts, however I noticed some retained silver after developing so I re-fixed this section in an ammonium thiosulphate fix at 42°C, as a result I destroyed most of the cyan dye in this image - in future I’ll be using a 24°C sodium thiosulphate fix.
