Paul Spooner : Mechanical Joke Maker

I am a huge fan of Paul Spooner’s work. Paul is my kind of artist. An impeccable craftsman, tinkerer, visionary and joke teller. He blends serious mechanics with over the top woodcarving skills to create wondrous automata. On a trip to Falmouth I made the trek out to his home and studio buried in a hillside. My time spent with he and his wife was pure magic. His kindness and creative spirit were only out shone by his great sense of humor.
