Andrea Griminelli plays Fantasy on Rigoletto by Giuseppe Verdi for flute and piano

Recital for flute and piano taken from the Hennessy concert series XII in Hanoi, Vietnam, on May 30, 2008, pianist: Irene Veneziano. This fantasy is based on the themes from the main arias of Verdi’s famous opera. The fantasy provides a flashy display of the flautist’s technical dexterity and musical elegance, and at the same time, offers a thematic sampling of the human conditions delineated in Verdi’s great opera, such as love, betrayal, murder, revenge, forgiveness and class struggle.
