Uncle Scrooge’s Rocket to the Moon - 1960 (aka Donald Duck and Uncle Scrooge’s Money Rocket)
“Uncles Scrooge’s Rocket to the Moon“ was a track on side two of the LP album “Donald Duck and his Friends“ originally released in 1960 as ST-1212, and later re-released by Disney’s Record Division as DQ-1212 in 1963. Track four from the LP named “Donald Duck and His Friends“ was re-released in 1961 as part of the Gem Series as a 45rpm single and retitled “Donald Duck and Uncle Scrooge’s Money Rocket.“ (LG-702)
Narrated by Cliff Edwards as Jiminy Cricket. Other voices include Clarence Nash as Donald Duck and Jimmy McDonald as Mickey Mouse.
Uncle Scrooge McDuck’s voice was played by Dal McKennon. This was the first time anyone had ever heard the voice of Scrooge with a decidely Scottish Burr.
Side Two of the LP Donald Duck and his Friends includes the vintage favorite “Uncle Scrooge’s Rocket to the Moon“ later renamed “Donald Duck and Uncle Scrooge’s Money Rocket.“ Scrooge builds a rocket ship to the moon and has trucks load all of his money on it to keep it safe from the thieving “Beagle Boys.“
