DIY FLOPPY DRIVE CNC: Part 5 - Floppy Drive/ CD-Rom Teardown

In this video, we take apart the floppy and CD-Rom drives (can also be DVD) and discuss how we are going to hybridize our CD-Rom and floppy drives. Make sure you are careful not to wreck the light sensor (Zero tracking), or you will need another floppy drive. The zero tracking sensor is what tells the floppy drives’ circuit where the absolute back most position is (It gives the circuits logic a reference point) we will be using this as our “home“ limit switch for our mini CNC machine.
