Kilauea Volcano Eruption Update; Ongoing Lavafall, 138 Acres Covered by Lava

A river of lava today cascaded down a cliff in Hawaii, creating a 50 meter or 164 foot high lavafall. This is occurring during day 5 of Kilauea’s east rift zone flank eruption, which so far has covered 138 acres in a layer of lava. The lava has largely inundated Napau Crater, whose origins this video will partially discuss in detail along with discuss the ongoing eruption from the opinion of a geologist and volcanologist.
