The SuperUnited Rapid & Blitz Croatia 2023 is the third leg of the Grand Chess Tour (GCT). The event will start on July 3 at 6 a.m. PT/15:00 CEST and will feature some of the world’s best players, with a prize fund of $175,000. The Superunited Rapid & Blitz Croatia is the third event of the tour and the second in the rapid and blitz format. The rapid portion of the tournament features a 10-player single round-robin format, with a time control of 25 minutes for the entire game, and a 10-second increment starting on move one. The blitz portion features a 10-player double round-robin format, with a time control of five minutes for the entire game, and a two-second increment starting on move one. In the rapid and blitz events, players are awarded: 2 points for a win, 1 point for a draw, and 0 points for a loss in a rapid game 1 point for a win, 0.5 points for a draw, and 0 points for a loss in a blitz game Grand Chess Tour Points Players who compete in the full tour earn GCT Points based on their placement in each event.
