Yosakoi dance - Tokiwa Park, Ube, Yamaguchi

Tokiwa Summer Fiesta - Yosakoi dance Yosakoi (よさこい) is a unique style of dance that originated in Japan. This style of dance is highly energetic, combining traditional Japanese dance movements with modern music. One of the defining aspects of yosakoi dance is the use of of big flags and naruko, small wooden clappers. Naruko were originally used to scare birds away from rice fields.
