Lotus Coating with Nano Glass

Experimental Lotus Coating with Nano Glass The lotus effect is the superhydrophobic property found with lotus plants’ leaves. The picture shows it on nasturtium. A fine structure on the surface of the object supports the property of the material. So nano glass powder is very effective. The powder has a particle size of about 10nm. (In the picture the particles are shown with coating for the scanning electron microscope). The powder is spread on the surface and the solvent is evaporated. The white line marks the 100nm thickness of the wet layer. The petri dish is treated the same way. Drops are rolling on the surface. A large drop acts as a loupe. Drops combine to a resonant mass. The water can also be moved electrically with a charged plastic stick. The uncoated half of the petri dish is wetted by the water. Is that a chance for no more dishwashing with nano coated dishes? :o) Experimentelle Lotus Beschichtung mit Nano Glas Der Lotus Effekt ist der super- wasserabsto
