Spector Dimension 5 vs Dingwall NG2 5 (featuring 14 Different Preamps)

Today we’re comparing the Spector Dimension 5 and the Dingwall NG 2 5. Both basses have the same scale lengths but completely different tones. The Dimension is equipped with the Fishman Fluency System featuring a 2-band EQ, coil split, and voice switch, whereas the NG 2 comes stock with the Darkglass Tone Capsule 3-Band Preamp and a 4-way pickup selector switch. The onboard EQ of each bass remains flat throughout the video and all Spector tones have the pickups set to dual coil unless otherwise specified. This video mainly cycles through the different voicing options of each bass with the Spector’s Voice Switch and the Dingwall’s Pickup Selector. All of the playing examples are identical through each preamp, so think of this video like the old Choose Your Own Adventure books. Timestamps for each preamp are below so you can skip over to your favorite. All preamps with selectable distortion are engaged but set quite moderately (with the exception of the Alpha Omega and B7K). -------------
