Mystery surrounds attack in Iran that killed more than 100 people

More than 100 people have been killed in two explosions at a cemetery where a ceremony was being held to mark the 2020 assassination of Iran’s top commander. No one has claimed responsibility for the attack in Kerman but it comes at a time of heightened tension in the Middle East following Israel’s assassination of a Hamas leader in Beirut this week, and the war in Gaza. Iran said that two bombs detonated 10 minutes apart at the site where the former Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps commander Qassem Soleimani is buried.
