The first challenge was just fitting the automatic CVT within the chassis of the car, since the CVT wheels needed room to change size. With the car built, I first tested it by driving it up some slopes of different inclines, before using it to pull trailers loaded with increasingly heavy weights. Finally, I added steering to the car and gave it another test-drive. Then, I tried coupling two of the automatic CVTs together to allow for a wider range of gear ratios. I put this transmission in a car, and compared its performance to the first car to see if the coupled CVT was actually an improvement. This video took longer to make than I expected, owing to the large number of different tests and modifications to the car throughout, but it was still a ton of fun to make. Enjoy the video!
