Italians Reading Newspaper (1944)

Unused / unissued material - date and locations unclear or unknown. Italy, 1944. Various shots of Italians reading newspapers (all look rather self-conscious). We see a Naval Officer with a sailor, a young woman, two teenage girls, two small girls, a couple in hats, all looking at news sheets. Shots over the shoulder of a young man shows the headline of the newspaper Risorgimento as ’Roma e liberata’. An older man reads the same page. Beneath the headline is the section in bold “Le Truppe Alleate entrano nella capitale tra l’esullanza del popolo romano. Flori e bandiere al passaggo dei liberatori“. Man in ragged uniform (?) reads the paper. Suave man with moustache reads. Ragged man reads with grin on face. Several more shots of Italian adults and children reading the paper (seems to be everyone in Italy in this film). Note: Allied forces reached Rome on 4 June 1944. FILM ID: A VIDEO FROM BRITISH PATHÉ.
