Tsar Nicholas II was the last Autocrat & Emperor of all the Russias. Born on the 18 May 1868 he came to the throne on 1 November 1894 following the untimely death of his father Tsar Alexander III. He ruled the vast empire of Russia until his abdication on 15 March 1917. Together with his family, he spent the next year in captivity.
