The latest work of the Elena Prokopieva Dance Theater opens up new facets of the company. Its name Singing in July was due to the significant date - 14 July, the day of the national holiday in France, and the birth day of the two famous people, a painter Gustav Klimt and a director Ingmar Bergman. It were their works which inspired Elena Prokopieva (who was also born on this significant date) to create a new production. One should not wait for any illustrations to Klimt’s paintings, as the show does not give any direct analogies, but it transmits the choreographer’s internal impression of his paintings. Deep psychologism of the Bergman’s films defines the level of understanding of the spiritual life and defines the way of the actors on stage. This performance is about people searching for their place in life, about searching themselves, about self-realization, about of the thirst of the dreams embodiment.
