Welcome to Lunatico.
Welcome to a new dawn.
This is a cover of “Lunatico“ C64 demo soundtrack originally made by LFT aka Linus Åkesson.
I wanted to make it all the way back from 2021, but only around a month ago I decided what system to use (should have probably gone with 2×SID2 for more accuracy) and became confident enough that my skill would be sufficient for a decent cover. And I still kinda don’t like it, because bass duty cycle isn’t tempo-synced, as well as PWM lead in the first part. It was originally done to make it play on real Flipper Zero, but I quickly realized that even part 1 will have too many instruments. The whole cover also uses more than 256 unique patterns so it’s definitely not possible with current Flizzer Tracker limitations. However, I may make a part 1 excerpt that will be small enough to play on real Flipper.
Thanks to Amphibit/Zaxolotl for transcribing the notes for part 2 (orders 4E-5D). Other notes in part 2 are either from jsidplay2’s siddump feature or from Abstract64’s OpenMPT cover of the “Lunatico End“ part.
Thanks to Syboxez for making part 1 NES cover (in FamiTracker) which I also used as a reference.
Notice that pattern length and speed for orders 5F-85 were chosen incorrectly. Instead of speed 8 I should have used groove 11 11 10 (so instead of “PAL speed 3“ it would be “PAL speed 4“, I believe that LFT used speed transition in the beginning of order 5F) and different pattern length, but I realized it when it was too late. That’s why in that orders notes placement is weird and there are a lot of “note delay“ commands.
Module will be available in Furnace-B demos folder soon.
P.S. There was a heavy rain outside when I was recording this. Peak vibe.
