Bevaix Boat - Construction Sequence Animation

The Bevaix Boat is a 2nd century Gallo-Roman lake and river boat discovered in the Bay of Bevaix, Lake Neuchâtel, Switzerland. The wreck was excavated, studied, and reconstructed by Béat Arnold of the Musée d’Archéologie (Archaeology Museum) of Neuchâtel. This animation illustrates the bottom-based construction sequence of the vessel. It is shown with two hypothetical rigging configurations: a simple square sail and a sprit sail.
