Realistic SCR-8 vintage boombox from 1983 RadioShack catalog

This is model number 14-778A, nicknamed SCR-8. It appeared in RadioShack’s 1983 catalog and remained there for 2-3 years. The price fluctuated between $199-249. It takes eight D-cell batteries and was made in Taiwan by Funai Electric Co. The meters are very unusual -- The first five LEDs on each side indicate input levels, but if you raise the volume, the outer LEDs will start to flash, indicating power output.
