Mashmakhan - Mashmakhan 1970 (Canada, Psychedelic Folk-Rock, Proto-Prog)  English-speaking group from Montreal (Montreal, Quebec), active in 1969-1971. The most famous song - As The Years Go By. The history of this group began long before 1969 - in 1960, keyboardist Pierre Senecal, bassist and guitarist Brian Edwards Rayburn Blake first met and decided to play together. They were soon joined by drummer Jerry Mercer ... Edwards soon left, but the trio continued to perform under the names The Phantoms, Ray Blake’s Combo, The Dominoes ... In 1965, they were called The Triangle, and 4 years were backing band vocalist Trevor Payne ... Then they said producer Bob Hahn, who helped the band to sign with Columbia Records in Toronto. Brian Edwards returned and the band took the name Mashmakhan. Single As The Years Go By was sold in Canada in the amount of 100,000 copies in the U.S. - 400,000 copies (Epic Records), in Japan - 400,000 copies ...
