Cheongung Medium Range Surface-to-Air Missile (KM-SAM)

Cheongung (천궁) is a medium-range surface-to-air missile system with a 40 km range operated by the Republic of Korea Air Force Air Defence Artililery Command (공군방공유도탄사령부). A complete battery consists of up to six 8-cell transporter erector launchers (TELs), a passive electronically scanned array (PESA) X-band multi-function phased array 3D radar, and a fire command vehicle. A “Block 2“ missile interceptor variant of the Cheongung has also been developed. It was developd by South Korean Agency for Defense Development (ADD) in cooperation with Russian defense firms Almaz-Antey and MKB Fakel. It is currently produced by LIG Nex1. 천궁 중거리 대공미사일 실사격/실험 영상.
