Lodi City Council Member Shakir Khan arrested on election fraud charges

Lodi City Council Member Shakir Khan remains in jail after being arrested on election fraud charges Thursday morning. City officials say he will also resign from office. KCRA 3 Reporter Josie Heart spoke with Lodi Mayor Mikey Hothi outside the county jail. Hothi said that he spoke with Khan in person while he was still in jail and asked Khan to resign, which he said he would. Mary Campbell, a public information officer for the city of Lodi, also called KCRA 3 to say that Khan plans to resign.
