طريقنا انت تدري - Our Path, You Know (Bahraini Revolutionary Song)

Song by the composer Majeed Marhoon (مجيد مرهون) with lyrics added by poet Ahmed Al-Shamlan (أحمد الشملان), members of the National Liberation Front - Bahrain (جبهة التحرير الوطني—البحرين). This party was established in 1955 as the first socialist revolutionary party in the Gulf Arab region, and was opposed to the British colonial regime and later the ruling monarchy. The song writers themselves were imprisoned for many years for their political activities. Awal is an old name for the island of Bahrain. The term “Bahrain“ itself was originally a term for the whole coast of the eastern Arabian peninsula.
