It was deep green beneath it. Birds went silent. The bog was silent. All waters streams stood still. The grasp of cold stopped them and turned mosses into fairytale forests. Empty nests and bare roots. Everything halted its breath before the snow came. It was huge, each snowflake like a world in itself. It was slow, as knowing that it came here for good. The soil was okay with it, the branches were okay with it, even the swamp was welcoming it, just because beneath the greenery it kept some warmth, some comfort, and solace for little creatures. They were already sleeping and they new the Bog will keep them safe. Until good. Until spring. Until the new wind, which sings about sunlight and warm rains.
