Hitler’s destroyed Berghof in Berchtesgaden (SFP 186)

On 25 April 1945, five days before Hitler’s suicide, four-engined bombers of the Royal Air Force Bomber Command attacked the Berghof and its surroundings. After the air raid, the Berghof itself was only slightly damaged. On 4 May 1945, allied forces occupied Berchtesgaden without a fight. The occupation of the Obersalzberg was a that prestigious goal that American and French units had delivered a race to it.
