The Nashville skyline changed within a matter of seconds, as the LifeWay tower came crashing down in a scheduled implosion. The building, officially known as the Draper Tower, has stood for more than a quarter century. Nashville’s Centennial Tower and LifeWay Building is demolished through a controlled implosion. This is demolition of the Lifeway building in Nashville Tennessee. The relatively new building was imploded to make room for new office and residential construction as well as retail space. Nashville has experienced significant growth in recent years driving up demand for prime downtown land. Fortunately nearly all of the building will be recycled with all the steel, copper, and other metals along with around 90% of the concrete being put to new uses.
