A huge column of ash covers Kyushu! Sakurajima volcano eruption in Japan

In Japan this Friday around 13:35 local time, the Sakurajima volcano spewed large plumes of smoke and ash. The height of the ash column reached more than 4000 meters above the island of Kyushu. A small infrasonic wave was also recorded. The front of the lava flow almost reached the base of the volcano to the south, stopping right at the coast road. Volcanic ash was blown southeast of the crater. Sakurajima is currently under volcanic hazard level 3 entry restrictions. The volcano is located near the city of Kagoshima and the locals experienced a sense of anxiety. Small amounts of ash are expected to fall on the cities of Kanoya, Tarumizu, Kinko, Higashikushira, Shibushi and Osaka by 5:00 am. The Sakurajima volcano is one of the most active in the world. Due to its explosive potential, the volcano is considered dangerous and is under close surveillance.
