’Magma 800m Below Surface’ | Iceland Declares State Of Emergency Over Volcanic Eruption Fears

There are warnings of potential flight chaos across Europe for British people after several earthquakes have indicated an increased risk of volcanic eruption in Iceland. Iceland has declared a state of emergency and evacuated thousands of locals due to fears that a volcano near the town of Grindavík could erupt. Professor Nicholas Rawlinson from Cambridge University says the Icelandic Met Office has warned about further micro earthquakes and that magma could be as little as 800m below the surface Speaking to Ian Collins on TalkTV, the man dubbed a ’Volcano professor’ said authorities were even considering putting a wall around a geothermal power plant.
