Nels Cline (and Alex’s) 40th B’Day - Alligator Lounge 1/8/96

For his 40th birthday, Nels assembled so many musician friends that barely half of them could fit on the stage at his home club, the Alligator Lounge in Santa Monica. I did my best to capture the event, although this tape is not very good... in particular, Nels debuted his epic tone-poem “Stay in Bed“ but my recording is simply horrendous (especially the audio mix) - a better version from a later date is coming soon!
