These have been my pet projects for a while because I’m a bit obsessed with old-school MuchMusic/can-con in general. 2007 is pretty notable in the history of MuchMusic as it was the year Chum Limited ceased to exist and a certain telecom company took over. I’ll leave it to the viewer to reflect on how that went. Music-wise, we see Rihanna become the new princess of pop, Timbaland continue to create hits everywhere he goes, Britney’s public meltdown, emo mature a bit in its popularity, more of the Canadian indie boom, a few staples of radio-friendy Cancon pop-rock to this day break out, ska randomly become popular, and of course...
