COASTAL RIVER SHIBBARIA IN RAINY SEASON

In Bangladesh, the rainy season (barsa) spreads over Ashar and Shraban (mid-June to mid-August). This is the season of fishes, flowers, fruits, fragrances and festivals. During Monsoon you can enjoy the natural wonders of the rainy season on Shibbaria river. SHIBBARIA is one of the beautiful coastal rivers of Bangladesh flowing in Kalapara upazila of Patuakhali district. It is also known as Khapravanga Doan. It originates and ends at the same Kalapara upazila. The length of this river is about 18 km. Lastly it falls into the Bay of Bengal through Andharmanik sea estuary. It has drainage availability with low and ebb tidal effect round the year. Shibbaria river serves as a safe harbour for fishermen who take shelter in Mahipur and Alipur Fish Ports of Patuakhali during adverse weather. This river is very important for transportation and livelihood of the local inhabitants.
