Man found abandoned baby wombat on the street and decided to save its life

Australian Russell Cogan found an abandoned baby wombat on the street and took it home to raise it and then return it to the wild. The baby was named Vardo. He was tiny and completely helpless. Russell and his wife did everything possible to help the animal: they fed it from a pacifier, wrapped it in warm blankets until it grew thick fur, and laid it on their chest so that the baby could hear its heartbeat. In the wild, babies live in their mothers’ pouches for up to 9 months, where it is warm and calm.
