敖包相会 / 甘雅丹 [song]

’Ao bao xiang hui’, a folk song from an early 1950s Chinese film 《草原上的人们》 (’People of the Grassland’), which seems to come from a celebrated Mongolian writer of the time. Celebrate both the Chinese and Mongolian roots of this beautiful piece of music! Traditionally, the first verse is sung by a male singer, and the second by female. Here it is all sung by a female singer, attributed to 甘雅丹 (gan ya dan). She really has a lovely voice, and I couldn’t find it on youtube already, so here it is! The song desc
