Godrumadvip Darshan (2): From Surabhi Kunja to Swananda Sukhada Kunja

24 Feb. 2010. Godrumdvip is one of the 9 islands of Sri Navadvipa-dhama. In this webisode, our parikrama party reached Surabhi kunj which used to be the the place where King Indra and Mother Surabhi performed bhajan to get the mercy of Lord Gauranga. It is also the same place where Markandiya Rishi took shelter when the flood of devastation took place a long long time ago. Then about 500 , this same place was the headquarters of Lord Nityananda Prabhu’s nama hatta prrogram and just very recently, our Srila Bhaktivinoda Thakur performed bhajan in this place. Also nearby is Swananda Sukhada kunj which was the residence of Srila Bhaktivinoda Thakur and now situates his samadhi mandir. From this place, Srila Bhaktivinoda Thakur had the transcendental vision of Sri Mayapur dhama, leading to his discovery of Lord Gauranga Mahaprabhu’s birthplace.
