Replica Shakedown - German 251 (Czech Tatra OT-810)

Now hear this! Our new-to-us replica WWII German Sonderkraftfahrzeug () 251 halftrack has been through initial assessments and refurbishment! Since we know vehicles this old have two states; breaking and broken, this is a shakedown run to see if anything else wants to break as we’d much prefer it break on our farm than when we present them to you in public! Here, she’s running strong! Machine gun and mount to follow soon! WWII Germany manufactured over 15,000 251s across four variants. It was designed to transport 10 panzergrenadiers. It would have at least one machine gun mounted to provide suppressing fire. The 251 was first deployed with the 1st Panzer Division in 1939, and the longer-term goal was to ensure a sufficient supply to transport the troops accompanying the panzers. This goal wasn’t achieved, and transport was conducted using a variety of vehicles. The circa 1,500 Czech OT-810 Tatras were manufactured from 1958 through 1962. With the addition of one of our MG-34 or MG-42
