ITER Toroidal Field Coils - Winding of the conductor

ITER Toroidal Field Coils Winding of the conductor Time lapse Fusion For Energy ASG - La Spezia - Italy The conductor used for the ITER Toroidal Field coils is about 47 mm in diameter and 2 mm thick. Winding tooling is being used to bend the 750 m of cable-in-conduit conductor (CICC) in a D-shaped double-spiral trajectory to form one module, known as double pancake. The conductor must be bent with millimetric accuarcy.
