Police have also arrested gunmen who on Tuesday took over a local television station during a live broadcast. Guayaquil police confirmed 13 arrests of suspects involved in the hijacking of the Ecuadorian television station TC, where gunshots and yelling were shown on the live feed. President Daniel Noboa has also issued a decree declaring 22 gangs in Ecuador as terrorist organisations.
