Thousands of people in the square at St Peter’s, and millions around the world are gathering to pray for the Pope in his final hours. An old priest is making his way through the hoards of people gathered in the square, where Jews, Muslims, Buddhists and Christians are united in prayer. As if a member of their family were dying, they are suffering the pain and the ineviteble grief of a lost one. The ancient Priest carries in his hand a letter a letter so important that it must reach the Pope before it is too late. John XXIII was Pope for only 4 years, seven months and six days, from the 28th October to the 3rd June 1963, in a period of profound change
