EHU: Committed to Belarus and Europe since 1992

In 1992, the European Humanities University was founded in Minsk with an idea to bring the independent nation of Belarus back to the Western intellectual tradition by means of providing ideologically-free higher education in Humanities, Social Sciences, and Arts. Despite political oppression and being closed down in 2004 by Belarusian authorities, EHU continues to operate in Vilnius, Lithuania by providing a rigorous liberal arts education to young Belarusians and fostering evolvement of the matured and resilient civil society in Belarus. Since EHU was re-located in Vilnius, 2457, mostly Belarusian, graduates have completed their Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Doctoral degrees at the Belarusian University-in-Exile.
