Back in the 1920s, the horrors of World War I were replaced by faith in democracy. But just ten years later, everything looked differently for her and her Jewish family. As an idealistic communist, Iboja fought against the Nazi threat until the ground burned beneath her. Together with her sister, she fled to Hungary in 1942, where they hid with friends until they were caught and brought to Auschwitz.
